Tell me more about…

  • Acupuncture is the insertion of hair-thin needles at specific points on the body to stimulate a physiological response which leads to better health.

Acupuncture “jump starts” the body’s innate ability to heal. Our bodies are incredible systems that can rebuild bone, muscle, tissues, and nerves, and regulate hormones and brain chemistry all at the same time!

Disease comes from an imbalance that leads to a blockage in the flow of qi— the vital energy or life force thought to regulate your spiritual, emotional, mental and physical health. Acupuncture is intended to remove blockages in the flow of qi and restore and maintain health.

A thorough health intake helps to determine the root imbalance and your symptom pattern. During your acupuncture treatment, needle locations are chosen based on your individual diagnosis. Rarely are two treatments exactly the same. Treatments will change along with your symptoms.

  • Cupping therapy has been used for centuries to promote healthy circulation, ease tension and pain, treat respiratory issues, and clear toxins from the body. We use glass cups to create a suction or pulling sensation over muscular and fleshy areas of the body. It creates a sensation like the inverse of massage. Cupping may leave red markings on the skin that will clear after a few days.

  • Gua loosely translates to "to scrape or rub" and "sha" are the markings that can appear on the skin during the scraping. We use a porcelain soup spoon to perform the gua sha technique. The spoon rubs over acupuncture points and muscular areas to improve blood flow to an area, treat pain, and stimulate the immune system to stop allergy and cold symptoms. A few minutes of gua sha goes a long way to make you feel better!

  • Moxibustion is a warming technique that uses a dried herb, mugwort (artemisia vulgaris), to stimulate circulation, treat pain, increase energy, and maintain general wellness. The moxa can be rolled into a large “cigar” or placed on the tip of a needle. It is held above the skin to warm the channels, activate acupuncture points, and promote healing.

  • Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is a centuries old practice. It is a gentle, effective, and safe way to combat the signs of aging and erase years from your face without the risk or downtime of surgery or injections.

Acupuncture offers many benefits to those who want to revitalize the look and feel of their skin. It builds collagen, tones muscles, improves circulation, and stimulates blood flow with no risk of scars, infections, rashes, or toxic build-up of chemicals. Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture is much more than a cosmetic procedure. Acupuncture changes the energy flow within the body and initiates the process for constitutional rejuvenation. If energy is not flowing freely throughout your body then your organs, muscles and lymphatic system cannot function properly, which can contribute to puffiness, bags and premature aging.

Chinese medicine believes that health often comes from the inside out. Each facial rejuvenation treatment includes a full body treatment to address possible imbalances in the body that may be contributing to premature aging. Superfine needles are placed in the muscles of the face, targeting areas of concern. Acupuncture stimulates the muscle function, and the face lifts itself via the acupuncture points, thus returning the face to a healthier, revitalized, more youthful appearance.

    Benefits of Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture:

    • Erase fine lines, diminish deeper wrinkles

    • Lift sagging eye lids, reduce bags/circles

    • Firm jowls and minimize double chin

    • Improve muscle tone and increase collagen production

    • Eliminate puffiness by improving metabolism and eliminating excess fluids

    • Improve hormonal balance, benefits acne

    • Increase circulation of blood and lymph to the face and improves facial color

    • Moisturize the skin and tighten pores

    • Significantly reduce the appearance of scars and age spots

    • Slow the aging process from within

    • Reduce stress evident in the face

    • Promote overall health and well being

I recommend 10-12 sessions scheduled once weekly for best results.

  • Microneedling, also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, is a nonsurgical, minimally invasive cosmetic procedure that uses tiny needles to address skin concerns such as fine lines, wrinkles, discolorations, hyperpigmentations, and acne scars.

In a microneedling treatment, tiny needles cause invisible punctures to the epidermis and dermis. These micro injuries stimulate the body’s repair mechanism. Collagen and elastin production are encouraged, new capillaries are formed, increasing blood flow to the face. These treatment also include a full body treatment.

    Benefits of microneedling:

    • Reduce the appearance of scars of any kind

    • Softens fine lines and deep wrinkles

    • Stimulates hair growth on scalp

    • Improves skin tone

    • Reduces sun spots

    • Firms sagging skin

    • Improves hydration and glow factor

I recommend 5 sessions spaced one month apart for maximum benefits.

  • "Acupuncture is an experience beyond the apparent health benefits, to me. I like to know that I’m not only in good hands, with a trained professional, but someone who is genuinely interested in individual treatment. Lex always goes above and beyond to reinforce that a successful session consists of knowing more than the appropriate needle points. It’s about knowing your patients. Highly recommend, 5/5 stars."

    — S.L.

  • "I had facial rejuvenation acupuncture with Lex. This was my second one, and my face was glowing after each session. It is also deeply relaxing for me. I highly recommend!"

    — SUE W.

  • "We visited for couples Gua Sha on Friday and our experience was so amazing that we booked acupuncture for Saturday. Lex is thorough, professional, empathetic, nurturing, and smart as hell...she clearly loves the practice of healing and is passionate about helping others."

    — JESSICA P.
